Airline availability depends on the travel date and itinerary. Search current flights to confirm operating carriers, schedules and prices.

CHOOSING THE RETURN FLIGHT

Plan Mumbai check-in and the Dubai arrival as two separate journeys.

A low BOM–DXB fare is not automatically the easiest option. First work out how you will reach Mumbai airport from Bandra, South Mumbai or another suburb, then compare the Dubai landing time with the terminal and final address. A nonstop can be worth more when it removes a connection and preserves a workable Metro, taxi or collection plan after arrival.

Are you travelling to BOM after a domestic flight?

Check whether the domestic and international sectors share one booking, whether baggage is tagged to Dubai and whether a terminal change is required. If the tickets are separate, allow for baggage collection and a new check-in deadline.

Will you land in Dubai before your accommodation is available?

Compare the local arrival date with the hotel’s check-in policy. An early-morning landing can require a room booked from the previous night or a confirmed luggage-storage plan.

DEPARTING MUMBAI

Use the operating airline and terminal—not only “Mumbai airport”—when arranging drop-off.

BOM has separate terminal operations. Read the terminal on the current booking and give the driver that terminal together with the flight number. Travellers coming from Colaba or the eastern side of the city should not copy a Bandra travel estimate; road conditions and the airport approach are different.

  • Work backward from the airline’s bag-drop closing time.
  • Keep the Dubai accommodation address and entry documents available offline.
  • If another Indian journey feeds into BOM, protect the international check-in with a conservative buffer.

ARRIVING AT DXB

Confirm the Dubai terminal before choosing Metro, taxi or collection.

DXB Terminals 1 and 3 have Metro stations; Terminal 2 needs a different ground plan. Check the operating hours for the landing time rather than assuming the Metro runs overnight. For a pickup, send the terminal, flight number and Dubai local arrival date before departure from Mumbai.

Going to Deira or Bur Dubai?

Metro may suit a light-luggage arrival during operating hours, while a taxi can remove the final transfer. Compare the door-to-door trip, not only the first station.

Continuing to Dubai Marina or another emirate?

Price the longer road journey separately. A Sharjah, Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah address should not be treated as a central-Dubai airport transfer.

COMPARE THE COMPLETE COST

Keep baggage, Mumbai transport and the Dubai terminal fixed while comparing fares.

Search in INR for the same dates and passenger mix. Then add any checked-bag charge, seat fee, Mumbai airport transfer and the journey from the actual DXB terminal. This prevents a cheaper base fare from winning only because essential costs were left out.

BAGGAGE BEFORE THE AIRPORT

Check the allowance before leaving home in Mumbai.

Do not apply one airline’s allowance to every BOM–DXB result

Emirates publishes weight-based Economy allowances by fare family, but another airline or codeshare can use a different system. The allowance shown on the selected ticket is the one that matters.

If a domestic sector comes before the international flight, compare its allowance separately. A bag accepted on the Dubai sector may exceed the domestic limit.

CONNECTIONS

Separate tickets create the highest risk before departure from Mumbai.

If BOM is reached on another booking, the Dubai flight does not normally wait for a delayed domestic service or train. Confirm terminal movement, baggage collection and the new check-in deadline before accepting a short connection.

Is Dubai a stop before another country?

Check whether baggage is tagged through and whether the itinerary remains airside. Entry requirements depend on the full journey and the traveller’s documents, not simply on holding UAE residence.

MUMBAI–DUBAI TIMING

Read every time in its local clock: Dubai is 1 hour 30 minutes behind Mumbai.

A BOM departure and DXB arrival can therefore look closer together on the itinerary than the time spent flying. Compare the operating duration shown for the selected date, then add Mumbai check-in, immigration and the journey from the actual Dubai terminal. If either time crosses midnight, send both local dates to the hotel or pickup contact.

For a workday arrival, plan from the time you are likely to leave DXB rather than the scheduled touchdown. Recheck the airline timetable shortly before travel because flight numbers and departure windows can change.

Mumbai–Dubai questions

1. Which Mumbai terminal should my driver use?

Use the terminal printed on the current airline booking and share the flight number. Do not rely on an old trip or the marketing airline alone.

2. Can I take the Metro from every DXB terminal?

No. Terminals 1 and 3 have Metro stations; Terminal 2 requires another transport plan. Check current operating hours for your landing.

3. Should I book the cheapest BOM–DXB result?

Compare the total journey after adding bags, seats, Mumbai transport and the transfer from the actual Dubai terminal.

4. What if a domestic flight arrives at BOM first?

Confirm whether it is protected on the same ticket, whether bags are through-tagged and whether a terminal change is needed.

5. Does UAE residence guarantee entry?

No. Entry depends on nationality, passport, residence or visa status and the complete itinerary.

6. How should family track my Dubai arrival?

Send the operating flight number, DXB terminal and Dubai local arrival date before leaving Mumbai.

7. Can I rely on the Metro after midnight?

Do not assume this. Check the current RTA timetable against the scheduled landing and allow for border and baggage time.

8. What currency should I use for comparison?

Start in INR on this direction, then check the payment currency and card conversion before paying.

9. Are checked bags always included?

No. Inclusion and weight vary by airline and fare family; read the selected ticket conditions.
