OPTIONS
Select the homebound flight after defining your Kenya arrival plan.
Air Arabia publishes Sharjah–Nairobi options, but a useful comparison needs your actual travel date and luggage requirement. Decide whether you will remain in Nairobi or continue elsewhere after JKIA. A lower base fare may be attractive for a short visit with little luggage; a family carrying gifts needs to compare the complete ticket. Add any stop and its consequences before judging elapsed journey time.
DEPARTURE
Starting in Dubai does not make SHJ a Dubai airport departure.
Sharjah Airport has published public-transport and taxi options. Check the journey from your real address, including any Dubai–Sharjah road leg and its possible congestion. Work backward from bag drop and protect the final airport approach. A coach that appears cheap is useful only if its current departure, pickup point and luggage arrangements fit the flight; confirm a backup for a missed feeder service.
ARRIVAL
Organise the JKIA pickup before leaving the UAE.
Use NBO and the operating flight number when contacting relatives or a driver. After landing, immigration and bag collection come before leaving the terminal. Kenya Airports Authority provides guidance on licensed airport taxis and transfers; use a recognised arrangement and agree the destination. If travelling beyond Nairobi, avoid turning a long family collection into a rushed road journey after a delayed flight.
PRICES
Use AED to compare the assembled Sharjah–Nairobi ticket.
Add checked bags and any optional services you intend to buy before ranking fares. Include transport into SHJ and from JKIA to the exact Kenyan address. A large suitcase or several family bags can change the vehicle needed at both ends. For travel during fixed leave dates, compare change terms as well as price, since a schedule adjustment can affect your onward plans and return to work.
BAGS
Weigh the return-home bags before choosing the Air Arabia allowance.
The airline's current baggage information sets weight and piece conditions; your selected fare or purchase establishes what is included. Do not assume adding kilograms removes a maximum per-piece rule. Keep medicines and travel approvals accessible in compliant hand luggage. If another Kenyan flight follows, check its separate allowance before packing gifts to the higher international entitlement, and review import restrictions with Kenyan authorities.
CONNECTIONS
A Nairobi continuation needs its own margin and luggage check.
For an onward domestic booking, identify the airport first. A Wilson departure involves road travel from JKIA; even an NBO departure may require collection and another bag drop. Establish whether the tickets are protected together. When bought separately, a late Sharjah arrival can mean replacing the Kenyan ticket yourself. A longer interval is useful only if you also have a realistic place to wait with the bags.
SCHEDULE
Make the arrival day work for the Kenyan address, not just the flight.
Check the local Nairobi date shown on the chosen itinerary and share it with the collector. If an early arrival means waiting for room access, ask the property about storage or a confirmed earlier check-in. Add the road leg to Westlands, Karen or a town outside the city before setting an appointment. The published flight duration does not include the airport processes or that final journey.
DOCUMENTS
Give each member of the family an individual Kenya document check.
Kenyan citizens and foreign visitors on the same flight should use the official eligibility information for their own status. UAE residence is not a substitute for that check. Review current entry and health requirements before departure, and save needed documents offline. For children, confirm the relevant travel paperwork with the airline and authorities rather than assuming an adult's documents cover the whole family.

Sharjah–Nairobi questions
Can I depart SHJ using a booking marked DXB?
No. Match the code on the actual ticket. Sharjah International and Dubai International are separate airports with different terminal and road-access arrangements.
Does Air Arabia publish a Sharjah–Nairobi route?
Its booking pages include Nairobi. Confirm the selected travel dates and itinerary rather than relying on an old timetable or a fixed weekly frequency.
How should I plan the trip from Dubai into SHJ?
Check the current coach or road journey from your exact address, then add a check-in buffer. Allow for congestion and a backup if a feeder service fails.
Which price should I compare for a bag-heavy visit?
Use the final fare with your required baggage and extras included, plus both airport transfers. A cabin-only headline may misrepresent what your trip costs.
Are all Air Arabia bags governed by total weight only?
No. Read the current piece, weight and size conditions for the purchased allowance. Extra kilograms do not necessarily permit an oversized or overweight individual case.
Can someone meet me immediately when the plane lands?
Arrange collection after immigration and bag retrieval. Share the flight number, Nairobi arrival date and agreed public meeting point, and update any delay.
Is a Wilson connection an airport-terminal transfer?
No. Wilson is separate from JKIA and needs a road journey after entering Kenya and collecting baggage, with room for traffic and new check-in.
What does AED mean for the booking total?
It is the Sharjah-origin comparison setting. Confirm the provider's charge currency, optional fees and card conversion before completing the payment.
Do my children need separate document checks?
Yes. Confirm requirements for each traveller with the official Kenyan guidance and airline, including any applicable permission for children travelling with the adults.
Can I use the Nairobi–Sharjah guide for the return?
Yes. It is independently written for the opposite direction, with Nairobi airport access and UAE arrival planning rather than simply reversed city names.
